Qualifications/Certifications Required: -Current AAPA certification Active PA state license or National Certification as Acute Care Nurse Practitioner -3-5 years of experience required in CCU/Cardiac Surgery setting. - First assistant experience in cardiac surgery required with EVH competence.
Shift Times: 7a-7p; Schedule is 3 12's On Call: 1 night/week & 1 weekend every six weeks Average Number of Patients, Typical Cases/Procedures: Typically, 6-8 patients on service and case per day APP Coverage: -APP run service (no residents or fellows) -2-3 APP providers on service daily (M-F) 1 APP provider overnight Physician Coverage: On-call surgeon covering at all times Procedures Required: -Competence in 1st assisting -Endoscopic EVH harvest -Line placement Role Responsibilities (as approved by the Medical Staff Board): -First assist in cardiac surgery procedures -Responsible for inpatient care related to pre and postoperative heart surgery and patients in the CCU and Telemetry unit as defined by surgical attending. -Perform and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic bedside procedures. -Assure clear and concise transfer of clinical information between nurses, clinical staff, and physicians. -Assist in data collecting of information related to any research trials within the department of Cardiothoracic. -Maintain communication with other clinical services.
