Were searching for a Lead Audio Visual Administrator to serve in a lead role to other AV Support technicians.  Analyze enterprise and desktop video teleconference, video and audio transmission, active noise cancellation, information display or projection, control interfaces, telephone and other conference room system capabilities. Confer with users to define needs, examine workflows, and identify existing problems to automate or improve existing systems. Communicate observations with AV vendors, design engineers, service contractors, network engineers, and installation technicians to address related issues and concerns. Supervise installations and post-installation testing, service and maintenance. Demonstrate and conduct on-site training for staff. 

Essential Functions

  • Lead, train, and mentor AV Analysts to assist with support of audio-visual troubleshooting and installations.
  • Prioritizes and coordinates daily work activities of the Audio-Visual support team.  Ensures all conferences within AV scope of operations have adequate coverage. 
  • Provides leadership and guidance by sharing expertise with others. 
  • Trains and/or oversees the training of Audio-Visual support employees on job related tasks.
  • Provides input to the IT Customer Service Manager on Audio-Visual Analyst team member performance.
  • Participates in selection and hiring of Audio-Visual Analysts.
  • Review presentation and conference system capabilities, compatibilities, meeting workflows, and room scheduling limitations.
  • Conduct preliminary design assessment and develop solutions to display and conference room issues. 
  • Develops solutions to complex operation problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment.
  • Prepare System sketches and design documents, AV circuit drawings and diagrams, presentation materials and written specifications.
  • Help manage AV integration projects.
  • Facilitate the installation of A/V software/firmware upgrades and preventative maintenance plans.
  • Visit installation sites to observe conditions affecting design.
  • Recommend solutions to technical design problems that arise during integration. Elevate issues to IT leadership when required.
  • Monitor conference rooms and systems availability to all users and perform necessary maintenance to support room/system availability. 
  • Monitor teleconferences and recordings to ensure they conform to Hospital standards and policies 
  • Acts as equipment custodian and performs inventory asset management and accountability functions.
  • Ensure security procedures are implemented and enforced.
  • Maintain multiple vendor relationships.
  • Obtain pricing and technical specifications for available hardware, software, or services. 
  • Keep abreast of changes in industry practices and emerging AV& teleconference technology by reviewing current literature, talking with colleagues, participating in educational programs, attending meetings or workshops, or participating in professional organizations or conferences.
  • Attend project meetings and campus meetings to ensure audio visual needs are met for new buildings, remodels, and removals.
  • Track inventory for audio visual equipment (reallocations and dispositions).
  • Assist with IT procurement re Assign or schedule tasks to meet technical and production work priorities and goals.
  • Attend local conferences to assess how well our choices in hardware and software affect our far site audiences perspective. 
  • Maintain current procedural and workflow documentation.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance on room-based and desktop video-teleconferencing systems.
  • Reports equipment operational status to room schedulers and generate maintenance service action requests and status reports. 
  • Provides user training on control, interfaces, and use of the audio/visual and teleconference equipment.
  • Provides on-site support at any customer site location.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of the basic principles of Audio Visual technology. 
  • Knowledge of capabilities of the house wiring to support AV functions. 
  • Knowledge of the basic use of the Microsoft presentation applications.
  • Skill in the operation and maintenance of the AV Control Room equipment  
  • Skill in the operation and maintenance of AV equipment located throughout the hospital. 
  • Skill in dubbing and building tapes.
  • Ability to show others how to use the classroom and auditorium equipment. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 
  • Ability to work around senior staff and visiting dignitaries
  • Requires the ability to research, learn and apply new technology quickly.  Must be able to communicate effectively with all customers, including senior hospital staff and have good organizational skills.
  • Ability to mentor, train, manage, and lead student employees to meet the needs of the university.
  • Ability to proactively engage present and future stakeholders in design, priority, setting and implementation of network cabling design. Engage with network services team on installing networking systems and wiring in classrooms.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and proficient organization skills.
  • Understands network infrastructure, pathways, power, wireless, and network cable standards for audio-visual systems.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals with various degrees of technical knowledge throughout the organization, within the community, and with vendors / contractors.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a customer service role required.
  • Minimum two years experience teleconference and audio visual resources required.
  • One year of leadership experience preferred.
